We Exist Because Every Small Business Deserves a Technical Expert in Their Corner
We built Synapse Storm on a simple premise: non-technical companies are at a structural disadvantage in every technology decision they make. That's not fair — and it's fixable.
Built by a Founder Who's Been on Every Side of the Table
I've been a developer, a vendor, a team lead, a department head, and a CEO — sometimes all within the same year. I've founded and exited multiple companies, built and sold agencys, launched hardware ventures, successfuly funded multuple crowd source funded campaigns, and spent two decades working across the full spectrum of technology: web, ecommerce, embedded firmware, PCB design, AI integrations, and everything in between.
Over those years, I watched the same painful story play out over and over: a non-technical founder or executive would hire a development firm or a key technical employee, trust them completely because they didn't know what else to do, and eventually discover — months or years later — that they'd been overcharged, misled, or simply outmaneuvered by someone who knew more than they did.
I've been on the vendor side of that relationship too. I know how easy it is to bill more than you should, to recommend solutions that benefit your bottom line more than the client's, to let scope creep when the client doesn't know to stop it. That knowledge — uncomfortable as it is — is exactly what makes me effective as an advocate for the other side.
Synapse Storm exists because I love helping small businesses grow. There is nothing more satisfying than walking into a chaotic, burned-out technical situation, diagnosing what's actually wrong, and watching the relief on a client's face when things finally start working the way they're supposed to. I'm happiest when I'm the person who fixes what two other teams couldn't.
Level the Playing Field for Non-Technical Companies
The technology consulting industry is structured to benefit people who understand technology. Vendors speak in jargon that obscures what they're actually selling. Developers scope work in ways that non-technical clients can't evaluate. Employees lean on their expertise as a shield against accountability.
The result is that small businesses — the ones who most need good technical guidance — are precisely the ones most likely to get taken advantage of. They don't have internal expertise to verify claims. They don't have procurement teams to review contracts. They don't have technical co-founders to call vendor bluffs.
Our mission is to close that gap. We serve as the technical conscience of our client organizations — the person in the room who asks the uncomfortable questions, reviews the work against the statement of scope, and makes sure every technology dollar is earning its keep.
Unbiased by Design
We don't sell software. We don't take referral commissions from vendors. Our only incentive is to protect your interests and deliver honest guidance.
Small Roster, Full Attention
We deliberately limit the number of active clients we serve. That's not scarcity marketing — it's a commitment to never spreading ourselves too thin to do good work.
Results Over Billable Hours
We're not incentivized to make your problems last longer than they need to. Our goal is to fix what's broken, build what you need, and get out of your way.
